I love stories. Ever since my earliest memories, I have enjoyed stories whether they were oral stories that were told to me, read to me, or experienced by me through watching the world around me. I would love, as a young child, to just sit and look at my surroundings-which oftentimes consisted of farmland, blue skies and lots of animals. Everything seemed to tell a story that inspired my imagination to think of all kinds of scenarios-many good and some not so good. What I learned is that we are surrounded by stories. Every person has stories. Every family has stories. Every community has stories and it goes out from there. We are surrounded by stories which is why they are so valuable as part of our existence. In my stories, I try to imbed ideas that touch the character themes of respect, responsibility, perseverance, integrity and kindness. These are also the themes that I addressed while teaching. My stories are simple which is how I view myself-just a simple person that likes to experience and tell stories. I encourage everyone that reads this to share their stories and ideas-informally or formally. Everyone has a voice that needs to be heard. We are all a part of the whole known as humankind. Once again in my life, like I did when I was a young child, I take the time to sit outside and am inspired by my surroundings. I think about the stories that I have experienced and am excited about the ones that are to come.
